Kindergarten Music students focus on Steady Beat, Percussion Instruments, Performing in a concert, Singing, and Ascending and descending pitch movement.

1st Grade Music students focus on Reading Music (whole, half, quarter, and eighth notes), Performing in a concert, Singing, Boomwhackers (pitched tube instruments), Percussion Instruments.

2nd Grade Music students focus on Reading Music (whole, half, quarter, eighth, and sixteenth notes; rests, endings, repeat signs), Music Form (verse and refrain, ballads, etc.), Performing at the Holiday Collage Concert, Singing, Orff Instruments (xylophones and metallophones), Percussion Instruments.

3rd Grade Music students focus on Reading Music (whole, half, quarter, eighth, and sixteenth notes; rests, endings, repeat signs; lines and spaces on the treble clef), Music Form (verse and refrain, ballads, etc.), Performing at the Spring Collage Concert, Singing, Recorder, Orff Instruments (xylophones and metallophones).

4th Grade Music students focus on Reading Music (whole, half, quarter, eighth, and sixteenth notes; rests, endings, repeat signs; lines and spaces on the treble clef), Music Form (verse and refrain, ballads, etc.), Performing at the Holiday Collage Concert, Singing in two parts and in unison, Recorder, Orff Instruments (xylophones and metallophones), Composition (Original State Songs).

5th Grade Music students focus on Reading Music, Music Form, Performing at the Spring Collage Concert, Singing in unison, two and three parts, Guitar. *Some 5th graders will audition for and attend the Citywide Music Contest with the FFAC Chorus.

6th through 8th Grade Music students focus on Reading Music, Music Form, Performing at the Holiday and Spring Collage Concerts, Singing in two and three parts, Music Technology and Composition of Hip-Hop pieces, Citywide Music Contest, Orff Instrumental pieces.
